IPTV Buffering? 8 Fixes That Actually Work

Buffering almost always comes from the connection between your router and your TV, not from the channel itself. Work through these fixes in order. Most people are sorted by the third one.
1. Test your speed on the device
Run a speed test on the same Wi-Fi network the TV uses. You need about 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K, per stream. If the number is lower, nothing in the app will fix it. See what speed you need.
2. Restart the router and the device
Unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, then restart the Firestick or TV box. It clears most temporary slowdowns.
3. Move closer or use a cable
Walls and distance cut Wi-Fi speed sharply. Use an Ethernet cable if your box has a port or you can add an adapter, or switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and move the router closer.
4. Close other heavy downloads
Game downloads, cloud backups and other people streaming on the same line all share the same speed. Pause them during a match.
5. Clear the app cache and update
On Android and Fire devices go to Settings → Applications → the player app → Clear cache. Make sure the app is on its latest version.
6. Free up device storage
A device with almost no free space struggles to keep a buffer. Remove apps you do not use.
7. Check a different channel and the time of day
If only one channel buffers, the problem is that channel, not your line. If everything slows in the evening, your internet provider may be busy at peak time. Try a wired connection or ask your provider.
8. Ask about the backup line
Some plans include a backup line (the plans page shows which), so if the main server has a problem the app moves to the backup on its own. See the plans, or message us on WhatsApp and we will check your line from our side.
Questions people ask
Why does IPTV buffer only during live sport?
Live events draw the most viewers at once and your own home network is often busier too. A wired connection and a backup line help most.
Does a VPN fix buffering?
Not usually. A VPN adds a step, so it can slow things down. Test with it switched off first.
Will a faster plan from my internet provider help?
Only if your speed test is below 10 Mbps for HD or 25 Mbps for 4K. Above that, the cause is usually Wi-Fi or the device.
